2004 Projects

As mentioned in the Chairman’s welcome Menter Bro Ogwr’s main aim in the coming year is to strive to increase the profile of the Welsh Language throughout the county of Bridgend. This will mean striving to create more opportunities for learners and fluent Welsh speakers to socialise and meet in a variety of different circumstances across the county.

Our 3 year strategic plan outlines our aim to target specific areas on a bi-monthly or quarterly basis, by pulling in as many different partners as possible to avoid duplicating work and be as effective as possible.

We aim to increase our childcare program by opening 3 breakfast clubs and 2 after school clubs in Y.G.G. Cynwyd Sant, Y.G.G. Y Ferch O’r Sger and Y.G.G. Bro Ogwr. We also aim to add to our holiday playscheme provision by adding another scheme in Corneli for Y.G.G. Y Ferch O’r Sger.

We have grant applications in at the moment to open a saturday club and a Drama club for primary school children, and with help from the “Nights Out Scheme” from the Arts Council of Wales we will be arranging many different events and get-together’s throughout the year.
