Reach the Heights!
A big congratulations to our Youth Officer, Siân Stephens, for passing her Level 3 Youth Work Course. Siân worked extremely hard in order to complete and present her course work so that she could receive this qualification.
Leon Welsby, a part time youth worker for Menter Bro Ogwr, was also successful.
A big congratulations to you both!

Year 10 Welsh gig success! On a very sunny second of April in Blaengarw Workingmen’s Hall, a free Welsh gig was held as the second project under the Bilingual Champions scheme for the County. Some very excitable year 10 students attended the gig from Archbishop, Ynysawdre, Pencoed, Brynteg and Cynffig comprehensive schools.
We were extremely lucky to have a special appearance from Glyn Wise and Magi Dodd from C2, as well as excellent performances from Zimmermans (winners of Battle of the Bands 2008) and Just Like Frank (a very popular band from Cardiff).
The day was a brilliant one, with everyone desperatley trying to catch a C2 t-shirt that Glyn and Magi were throwing out in to the audience... even the teachers! Unfortunatley for me, the saying ‘first come first serve’ was more true than ever... there were none left by the end of the day! Everyone was dancing and singing along – with the can-can and the conga thrown in too! There were a few dissapointed faces when the performance finished to say the least, however i think its fair to say that everyone is now eagerly await the next gig!
